Multi-Gamemode Map Design
This level was created as my dissertation project in which I wanted to design a map, specifically to tackle multiple game modes at once being played throughout the map. The two game mode used were CTF (Capture the Flag) and Conquest. These two game modes worked well as they were both about holding ground and a constant push and pull between two teams.
The map has been designed to be alike a airport or spaceport with a central air traffic control tower to provide some verticality with a possible place for a sniper to go. The main building features two floors with various interconnected rooms with seats, advertisement kiosks and luggage to be used as cover. Unfortunately these parts of the level are still in grey boxing as meshing has not been undertaken.
I learned a lot about designing levels to be used for different purposes as not only was that initially challenging, I also had to make changes that made sense in the level with real life objects and items you’d find in the real life place.
